Kontiki May 2016

Kontiki is a scouting event where scouts all across our province compete in building rafts.  They then spend 24 hours on the water. It is certainly a very popular event, and our cubs get a sneak preview of what is to come when they join scouts one day.

The Beaver Challenge is usually arranged and manned by the scouts from all around the province, offering the cubs a variety of fun activity bases.

Twenty two boys from the 1st St Benedict’s Cubs braved the cold and wet conditions to attend this years Kontiki, held at Arrowe Park, Benoni. The theme was ‘Star Wars’ – with many activities, some having the cubs fighting with ‘Light Sabres’, or ‘shooting clones’ or making BB8 robots. The event was a huge success with all our cubs finishing the activities and earning their Beaver Challenge badge for 2016.
